Hooves 'n Hearts Equine Rehab & Rescue is a non-profit organization that was established in January 2022 with the aim of providing dedicated care to horses and other farm animals in need. Through the generous support of donors, grants, volunteers, and staff, we are able to provide a safe and nurturing environment for horses that have been abandoned, neglected, or abused. Our ultimate goal is to help these animals recover from physical and emotional trauma and regain their health. We work hard to find new homes for these horses, either through adoption or lifelong sanctuary care, ensuring their comfort and dignity are maintained while being realistic about their future.
Apart from providing basic needs such as food, shelter, and veterinary care, we also offer therapy riding and a safe haven for survivors of domestic violence. Our founder, Dana Mendoza, has always had a passion for rescuing and improving the lives of horses, and she saw an opportunity to help the influx of cases due to the changing economy. With this in mind, she came up with the idea to establish HHERR and help both humans and horses in these situations. Since then, the rescue has grown with the support of the community, and we continue to play a vital role in protecting the welfare and well-being of horses and other farm animals, ensuring they receive the care and compassion they deserve.
